Once you book, you'll receive a confirmation email asking for your trip details such as dates, group size, interests, and anything else that helps me get started.
From there, I'll follow up personally and we'll go back and forth by email until your trip is fully planned. You can expect a reply within 24 to 48 hours at every step.
I'm Karina, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Before creating Going to Rio, I spent 12+ years working in travel: managing destinations in Turkey, one of the best-structured tourism markets in the world, where I learned firsthand what makes a destination actually work for travelers.
I also worked at Going.com, the most-used cheap flight alert service in the US, helping travelers find deals across the globe.
Combining passion for travel and cheap flights, I’ve visited more than 55 countries, including places that take real planning to get right, like Russia and the Middle East.
I bring all of that: my local knowledge, industry experience, and firsthand travel instinct to every trip I help plan.

What if I need more time to plan?
No problem, we'll keep going by email until your trip is fully planned. There's no fixed deadline on your side of the process.
Do you book flights or hotels for me?
No. I provide personalized research and recommendations, but you make all bookings yourself with my guidance. You stay in control of your reservations and payment details.
What if I'm planning a longer trip through South America, not just Rio?
Rio de Janeiro, Planned for You covers only the Rio portion of your trip. If you want help with flights and the wider route, go with Rio de Janeiro and Beyond instead.
Can I upgrade after booking?
Yes, if you've booked Rio de Janeiro, Planned for You and later want help with flights and route planning too, just reach out and you can upgrade by paying the difference.
Are refunds available?
Once your session begins, the fee is non-refundable — it covers the time and research invested in your trip from the start.
