In 2026, the sanctuary introduced the Christ the Redeemer Sunrise Experience, an exclusive visit created in partnership with Mastercard. Available on just a handful of selected dates throughout the year, it gives a small group of visitors the chance to experience Rio's most iconic landmark before it opens to the public.
As the sun rises over Guanabara Bay, guests enjoy one of the city's most spectacular viewpoints in a peaceful setting that few visitors ever experience.
Perched atop Corcovado Mountain, Christ the Redeemer offers 360 degree views across Rio. From the terrace overlooking Guanabara Bay, you'll watch the first light illuminate the city while Sugarloaf Mountain stands silhouetted on the horizon.
Combined with the peaceful atmosphere, the limited number of guests, and breakfast served after the experience, it's unlike anything else Rio has to offer.
What is the Christ the Redeemer Sunrise Experience?
The Christ the Redeemer Sunrise Experience is an exclusive event created in partnership with Mastercard, available only to Mastercard cardholders. On a handful of selected dates in 2026, a small group of guests is granted access to the sanctuary before it opens to the public, offering one of the rarest ways to experience Rio's iconic attraction.
The morning begins with a ride aboard the historic Corcovado Train, the official railway to the summit. Once at the top, guests have time to enjoy the sunrise in a peaceful atmosphere before the first regular visitors arrive. During the experience, one of the sanctuary's priests offers a special blessing, followed by breakfast at the Corcovado Train Cultural Space.
