The month opens with a national holiday on November 2nd, and two more follow on the 15th and 20th. Together they build toward the long weekend of November 20–22, which rolls straight into Rio Pride on Copacabana Beach. Expect fuller beaches and higher hotel prices on those dates, so book ahead if your trip overlaps.

November brings more showers, but Rio has plenty to do when the sky turns gray, and Downtown is the best area for it. The Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, a Neo-Manueline library is one of the most beautiful interiors in the city.
